(Starting with a sidenote: I've heard a ton about Factorio. I've been thinking about doing a dive into it with my 8 year old son. Thoughts?)
The horrible curse of bitcoin projects: nobody wants to spend their bitcoin. Well put. I remember seeing you guys building BitEscrow and launching it -- always thought it was pretty awesome. But, yeah, this is the story of so many cutting edge bitcoin projects (especially when involving self-custody) -- there's not enough demand.
I'd be curious for your thoughts around profitability of infrastructure vs retail. Clearly, when it comes to bitcoin: somebody is always holding the keys. So it seems the question is how to provide services to the people who are holding keys (custodians) rather than the people we wish were holding keys (everyone else). There's not really a question I'm asking, but would love to know how you are thinking about it.
It doesn't look like you gave your wallet a name. My suggestion is Iseult Wallet.
factorio for my son
Sounds fun. It is a hard game, and it might be fun for him to play with you. (it is multiplayer). See how he likes it. Warning: it is really addictive. Try to launch one rocket (not space age) and let me know how that goes. go into it blind, and do not prepare. just play the tutorial. do not do any research, trust me it is more fun that way. if your son gets good at factorio he will grow up to be a good engineer.
BitEscrow
Thanks. shame it didn't work out. learned a lot.
profitability of infrastructure vs retail
infra is profitable, but only if it the market demands it, Bitcoin or not. if you don’t sell people on the idea of Bitcoin first, you’re just building a road to nowhere. We are still early.
wallet name
fork it and call it whatever you want, it is open source.
reply
People spend their bitcoin for urgent expenses like refill or pay some bills nowadays.
