I build a few DIY heaters and they work fine: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5284765

They look very cool and I love the idea of integrating mining into everyday appliances and machinery. This is how we get fully decentralized mining and optimal security in the future but they do seem a bit pricey.

Just buy a regular miner.
I guarantee they're using old miners that aren't profitable anymore.
The new Asics have the highest profitability. Buy one of those. Don't use people's garbage. That is unless the heaters are priced as heaters. But those cost about $50 for the same power output.

good point. it's probably cheaper to stack SATs at this price than to spend that much capital on unproven equipment.

a very quiet heater is the new apollobtc units by futurebit. i put two in my basement and it is a toasty 75F and they are basically silent.

how much do you make off it and how soon before its obsolete and is just a normal heater?
reply
a few dollars. but it is my full node as well so well worth it
reply
few dollars a day or month? I don't really want to pay 1000 dollars for a full node.

I am hesitating too, I want many reviews before buying and product is very new. Love the concept tho.
Check out this French company they have same idea but not for heaters

Is there a English version?
reply
Apparently no and I don't know why they don't even have a translation, this is scandalous. Maybe they focus on french market which must have weak demand, don't know. But project is cool, it's the same idea in the end. Make heating and mining one.

Classic French people, haha
