You can't stop technological progress. We can only figure out how to deal with it.
Even if the police can't use them, someone will.
Aren't similar things already used in the military? I consider drone strikes to be similar in nature. The operator is never at risk.
The difference here is of course this is domestic use. But I guess if criminals start to use them, law enforcement will too.

Looking forward to to when they're hacked and hostage taking for ransom becomes fully automated. As if we needed another reason to take opsec seriously.
