Part 1: #1012448 Last winner @WeAreAllSatoshi

Welcome to This Week's BNB with a 1.5k bounty :)
You wake up in a sealed elevator. There are no windows, no sounds, and no acceleration. You’re floating. Next to you, a flashlight floats midair. A steel ball hovers too.
You’re allowed to do any classical experiment (no quantum BS, sorry Schrödinger). Use logic and known physics. You can’t open the door. You can’t look outside. But you must figure out where you are, based only on what’s happening inside the elevator.
Where are you?
A. In orbit around Earth B. Falling straight down toward Earth C. Floating in deep space, far from any gravity D. Inside a simulation E. Dead (not kidding, this is a valid option)
Hint at 500 sats (cuz last one received 200 sats too quickly)

A. In orbit around Earth

do you think any other option might be correct?

I just guessed, like when astronauts are in space. 😄
but, B. Falling straight down toward Earth might also be correct.

Woah! Thanks mate.

Howdy. I would say that A and C are going towards the same thing and without thinking too much. I think you could do some sort of light and gravity test experiences with the flashlight and the steel ball to check between the two of the answers. I think if you go deeper in space you experience perfect stillness, but if you are in an orbit you do experience some sort of gravity. This is what I recall from physics. So, I pick answer A. Thank you for reminding me of my favorite physics teacher and his puzzles!

Good catch but one more step before the bounty, do you think any other option might be correct?
reply
Option B would also be correct and sad at the same time if stuck in an elevator.
reply
yep :) but half the bounty cuz first come first serve i'll be looking forward to your answer next week

Thank you very much! This is much appreciated! Next week same day? I want to be online when you post it.
reply
yup, next week same day, same time (around 9AM IST)
You say there is no acceleration but the G-meter is measuring -2 so I'm a bit confused by that.
reply
AI mistake, please ignore that
reply
dude!
reply
yeah, where would you get images for handmade questions otherwise that's one point I use AI for
reply
Inside a simulation!!
reply
haha true but that's philosophical not physical
