Iran and (most of) the Middle East seem very proud of their "victory" over the West and its proxy in the M.E.. War tends to cause such rallies around the flag.
Can you blame them--a >5000 year old country having their sovereigny attacked?
Americans, are you proud that Trump's admin bomb Iran's nuclear facilities?

No, not proud. Unilaterally bombing another country without provocation is not something to be proud of.
At the same time, I don't think Iran holds any kind of moral high ground. They've been a bad actor in the region for decades.

I say it often, but just because you’re the victim doesn’t mean you’re a good guy.

Certainly. The funny thing about war, and my reason for taking this poll, is how quickly it seems to cause intelligent people to unthinkingly throw their weight behind "bad guys" they once hated because there are other "badder guys."
It's never black and white, and usually, as I believe is the case here, the only real victims are the common people.

unthinkingly throw their weight behind "bad guys"
edit: so far this doesn't seem to be happening among stackers, at least not according to the poll
reply
No, I've only seen two or three cheering it on.
There may be more who think it was smart or necessary or something like that, but who still would have preferred Iran not get bombed (i.e. necessary evil).

Iran have willingly entered into agreements over the last decades where they agreed not to enrich past what is needed for industrial use. I guess the argument is to MIGA by jettisoning the US from their deal so they can..... 'obliterate' their nuclear program?
art of the deal, right?
reply
That's true, but misleading.
They signed a deal with the US and Europe that capped enrichment somewhere under 4%, but the US withdrew from that deal and it had a clause about what happens if the US withdraws that then allowed enrichment up to 60%.
That was supposed to be the incentive for the US to stay in the deal, but instead the US withdrew from the deal and then bombed Iran for abiding by the conditions that had been agreed to. It's extremely shameless.
bad actor in the region for decades.
You're talking about Iran?

Interesting! I'm not a historian of the m.e. but they're not the first country that comes to mind when talking about bad actors "in the region"
I don't think any state can take a moral high ground.

Me neither.

The propaganda is strong on tik tok. They even have a beach boy's parody called "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb iran"

Wrong question, since everything is WWE levels of fake we can't know what actually happened one way or the other, it's all scripted theater.
What we can be happy about, is that the people that have tried for DECADES to launder trillions of dollars in a regime change operation, have failed.
[THEY] will have to, at most, settle for something that costs no more than a readiness exercise.
