Cornell Brooks School Tech Policy Institute director Sarah Kreps announces the Global Bitcoin Adoption Index, a new initiative to measure how and where Bitcoin is being used worldwide, with a focus on its role in promoting freedom and financial inclusion in authoritarian regimes.
I don't really understand these indices. Many of them say countries like India, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. are leading in adoption, yet, when I go to BTC map, barely any store that accept Bitcoin in those countries. Even if you talk to people on the street, friends etc. barely anyone has any clue about what is Bitcoin, beyond the usual perception of magic internet money.
Seems something really off.
