Surely there is no way that this could blow up for the Red Sox say next season when Bergman opts out after this season 😂

I mean, sure, they're giving up an offensive powerhouse, but they're in need of pitching and getting a starter with a 6.50 ERA. What a deal!

reply

Haha. Apparently the pitching prospect Harrison is pretty good. We will see.

reply

I mean its a hell of a move when in one year they could end up with no third baseman.... going from two of the tops to non is a wild move

reply

This makes me sad. Gonna miss him chewing his wad of gum and seeds. Wish him the best though.

@grayruby @NEEDcreations

Not sure if y’all saw the ESPN trading grade but DANGGGGG did they turn the screws on Boston calling it a salary dump for the most part 😂

reply

Ohtani starting tomorrow.

reply

Red Sox have lost their minds.

@NEEDcreations what is going on?

Hicks is decent and Harrison is a good prospect but this seems insane to me for a team that is supposedly trying to compete.

reply

We just slid into a playoff spot today too. Won 7 of 8. And we do this???!!? Sox ownership are clowns 🤡

reply

The GMs since the 2018 WS win have been idiots.... I mean really since the mid 2010s but at least in 18 they won the World Series. Hicks would be great from the pen again. But ending up without possible any 3rd baseman is wild. Unless of course they back up another brinks truck for Bregman.

reply

Mayer has been surprisingly solid at 3B so far...but yeah

reply

I mean Devers even with bad D is a top 10 id say pushing 5 while Bergman is top 5. This whole thing is just wild and makes Boston a terrible place for free agency now

reply

Elite Left handed hitters don’t grow on trees. There are like 5 or 6 of them in all of MLB. You better be sure your are getting a dynamite return if you are trading one because you might spend the next decade searching for another one.

reply

Did Nico Harrison take over as GM? Haha

reply

Unfamiliar with him. Is he known for terrible trades?

reply

That’s the Dallas Mavericks GM that traded Luka Doncic away.
