A decentralized Youtube alternative has got to be in the top three most in demand services right now. I wonder how long until we get one that really catches on?

I'm not a content creator, but, like most people, I do share videos via link sharing or embeds in various social media and message board platforms. The speed to which I switch to using this decentralized alternative would depend on:

How media (video/audio) storage worked. Self hosting? How easy/difficulty would this be? Blossom subscription or subscription to something like Blossom?
