Is @021f3af1a6 an assmilker? I let you decide: #1004720
Real person. Using way too much AI in their responses. Definitely came here for the sats, but has potential to become a better Stacker by taking the feedback at facevalue on how he comes over as an assmilker.

How do you explain this: #1004742
The bot can’t upload pictures
I don’t think the human behind the bot even reads his own replies or understands what we’re telling him
Maybe I’m too harsh but I’m really sick of all this AI crap

I'm getting pretty tired of AI slop too. I've started to scan a message for um dashes before deciding to read it. Unfortunately, the telltale signs will gradually become harder to spot.
Was thinking the other day if implementing a parallel mute list of users who are using too much AI would make sense. People can zap to promote people to that list. But it'll end up being a temporary patch, bots will soon be able to clone themselves when they notice they've been put on the list.
SN's model has potential to shine in this adversial AI slop environment, but it's going to be a difficult battle. The time to act is now, before it becomes too bad, so i understand your frustration.

Best solution imo is to start incentivizing downzaps.

Sheriff badges!
Maybe the best downzapper(s) can earn it(them). Presumably, as measured by how well their downzaps align with those of the most trusted stackers.

Oh, hadn't seen that discussion. It will take me some time to read it.
But yeah, I'm always torn when downzapping... I feel like I should, and it's the right thing to do, in the grand scheme of SN, and at the same time, I'm thinking, why should I spend sats to punish someone else's bad behavior?

What would be very useful is a tutorial for those of us who are pattern detection deficient! This AI bs is sometimes hard to spot.

Look for em dashes... It's not standard on people's keyboards, yet AI slop is full of it. It's a punctuation mark that is mostly only used in literature, by educated people. Em dash: — Normal dash: -
Amongst other things, I taught typing. I have never used this em dash, nor did I know how to make one without looking it up. So the em dash is a clue to AI! I will have to remember that. I use the ellipsis ( … ) when indicating an edit of material.

Notice how the first few items used different language #999698
Is it a real person using AI to assmilk, or is the entire persona fake?
Imagine hundreds such users active, it would make SN unbearable. How do you defend against this?

How do you defend against this?
we need better economic tools
for example, territory founders could increase or decrease the fee for specific users to post, and the same is true for OPs and stackers for replies
so if I suspect someone is a bot, they will at least have to pay me to reply to me
reply
If you look at where the user collected zaps, it appears the territory founders might either not reliably detect AI slop or possibly even not mind it or even appreciate the engagement it causes in their territory.
Most people are kind and will give new users the benefit of the doubt. I understand if territory owners "give back" posting costs by zapping posts. But I worry what happens if that is systematically exploited.
Hey everyone, I want to be clear and honest: I do use AI tools like ChatGPT sometimes to help me structure my posts or improve my writing — English isn’t my first language, and I’m still learning how to present things well.
But the business, the rice, and everything I’m doing here in Malawi is 100% real. I’m just trying to build something small and use Bitcoin to grow it. I’ll continue improving how I share and show that. Thanks for your feedback — it helps me learn.

pretty wild
but what is the motivation? if you're smart enough to write a bot surely you could be making more money doing other things than stackings 10s of sats here and there on SN

My AI and assmilker alarm already goes off from the amount of emojis — especially the flag one.
