Hey stackers, I’m writing from Malawi 🇲🇼, where many are struggling with rising food prices, fuel shortages, and a currency that keeps losing value. In rural areas like mine, it’s getting harder for families to afford basic necessities like maize, cooking oil, and soap.
Our government recently devalued the Kwacha again, and this has made imported goods even more expensive. Meanwhile, most people still don’t know about Bitcoin or how it can help preserve value or even be used in small peer-to-peer trades.
I recently started a small rice business to support my education and daily needs. I'm also learning and sharing about Bitcoin through Stacker News and Nostr. I believe that with the right knowledge, Bitcoin could become a financial lifeline for people here — especially in areas where banks and mobile money aren't reliable.
If you live in a country facing inflation or poor access to financial services, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you see Bitcoin being used in your community? What advice would you give to someone trying to introduce it where most people have never heard of it?

Hey, greetings from Romania. Thanks for sharing your story and struggle. It somehow hits me. Bitcoin it’s still early here too. Some urban folks use it, but most people don’t. In rural areas, it’s nearly unknown - I don't want to say it's completely unknown. As an advice for introducing Bitcoin... hard to stay in one short phrase. But, start with education. Keep it simple and be practical. Build trust. Maybe try partner with small local shops. Show how it helps, not just how it works. People need to understand the risks too.
Keep doing what you do and keep stacking sats!
