Who knows but that’s pretty cool.
Trying something different. But you can tell this guy is willing to do different things, hard things, to be great.
Maybe it gives him an edge on the court. Maybe not but if not still a really cool experience. He probably still can't do all basketball activities yet so might as well work on the mental game.
Not sure if you know, but Shaolin Temple is famous for martial arts. Many Wu Xia novels / stories even credit the temple to be the origin of all Wushu. So there might be some physical training on top of mental training.
