This item is on my shopping list. There's nothing better than a decentralized network like this to communicate without the need for third parties mediating through regulated infrastructure. Radio would be — and still is — the best alternative, but many states have very strict regulations regarding its use. Buy them and leave them with relatives and friends, teach them how to use it — the bigger the network, the more useful it will be.
