I think I've trained myself into doing that. I've been running long distance for a while now (this year's full marathon will be my 6th, I ran my first full marathon in 2018), although I'm still very slow. I used to carry a bottle of water when I go on long runs, but I hated carrying anything in my hands while running. I also never decided to buy those bottles that you can wear on a vest or on a belt. Instead I trained myself to not need to drink water if the run is under 25km, and plan the route to make pitstops at home if it's over 25km.
Just keeping a log and posting weekly updates to hold myself accountable. The accountability part seems to be working so far, because I think twice before trying to grab an alcoholic drink or trying to talk myself out of not going on a run.
Agreed. And it's really quiet during the walk. Only the sound of our footsteps on the snow and our own breathing.
No I don't. I usually eat 1 banana and drink plenty of water before the run, but no food or drink during the run. If the run is over 30km, I usually run home to drink water/coconut water (electrolytes) and eat another banana at 23-24km, and then run the rest on a 6km loop near home. I always carry my phone with me on long runs in case of any emergency.
It's attained by the tradeoff of not enough sleep. Not a good thing, definitely not healthy. But I can get addicted to gaming like that. Need to cut back and play in moderation instead, but man, it's fun to play the new Monster Hunter, haha.

I agree. Mitchell is a good pick for first team all NBA.
Agreed. My personal favorite brand is Kavalan from Taiwan, but their whiskies tend to be a bit on the pricey side. I visited their distillery in Taiwan back in 2023, really cool place.
Nikka from Japan makes some good ones too. Their cask strength whisky Nikka from the Barrel is one of my goto.
Sensei is killing it though. I think I only comfortably beat 16k-17k steps on long run Sundays (31k last Sunday). I only hit about 17k-19k steps even on Tuesdays where I have a full work day plus a 10km run. Normally just 8k-9k steps on rest days.
Although he didn't torch the Mavs, Luka still got a triple double, so I guess this is still a pretty solid performance. I'm actually looking forward to the Lakers at Mavs game on April 9th. It will be Luka's "homecoming" and I really wish he torch the Mavs for 80 points or something along those lines.
I think Bronny is actually doing pretty well in the G League. He's been under the microscope and been heavily scrutinized ever since he joined the league. He is definitely not his dad, not good enough for the NBA right out of high school, but he seems to be finding his way. Playing in the G League is probably much tougher than playing in college, because all the other guys are all fighting for an NBA spot, fighting for a chance, fighting for their lives. So, opposing players and even teammates will definitely not make Bronny's life easy. Yet, Bronny is fighting along all these desperate guys, and that tells me he's at least trying hard to succeed. Give it time, as he gains more experience, learns more, and continues to work hard, he might be able to find a spot on the NBA.
Yea, he wasn't very consistent in the playoffs, especially towards the last few seasons with the Canucks. Still great goalie and great career though. I think NHL goalie with 2nd most games played behind Brodeur and 4th most wins behind Brodeur, Fleury, and Roy. And of course HHOF 2022.
First one that came to mind was Roberto Luongo's 12 year, $64 million contract. Mike Gillis ended up trading Cory Schneider away before he could find another team to take that Luongo contract. And Vancouver had to retain part of Luongo's salary to make the trade happen. I think Luongo ended up retiring while still having 3 years left on the contract. I guess the silver lining is that Luongo remained relatively good before he got traded.
Since you're running daily, you're probably in better shape than you think. If you want to try going longer distances, I think you can just go for it. You might be surprised in how far you're able to go.
That means you haven't gone through the old ones. Often perfect, yes; but far from always, as my wife used to push us on walks and hikes in any weather. Although, me picking the nice ones to post about first might add into the bias. Or maybe I'm just a lucky guy? Or am I?
You get the idea.
Most of these hikes were done between 2020-2022, although some date as far back as 2016 and some as recent as 2024.
I still have about 80ish more walks / hikes to write about, so there's about 140ish unique walks / hikes in total (we do repeat some). Just a rough count, numbers are not exact. We still go on new ones these days, although not as much as during the covid years. We were going at least 1 hike/walk sometimes 2 every week during the covid years.
I just started writing and posting about them when territories got releases.
