That's a great point! I agree that the underlying mechanisms and the broader societal shifts Bitcoin instigates can certainly feel complex as they unfold. My article was really getting at that initial, personal hurdle of engaging with something new, but you're right that the ripple effects and technical intricacies present a different kind of complexity. It's almost like the difference between learning to ride a bike (initially new and a bit wobbly) and understanding the physics and engineering behind how a bike actually works (which is much more complex!). Thanks for adding that point!


and newness is something to embrace

Spoiler Alert: I'm" new" to this app.

"Life is complex. Intaracting with new people is complex. Living in a new place is complex. Everything is complex."

That’s what I used to tell myself. Over and over.

I whispered it when I first heard of Bitcoin, a "new"  currency that everyone in the space already seemed to understand.

I repeated it in my head... I said it when I stumbled through conversations, unsure if I was saying the right things, unsure of how to connect. I said it when I faced minor challenges during test transactions

At some point, I truly believed bitcoin was just... complex.

But then, something shifted. It was subtle—so quiet I didn’t notice at first. Maybe it was in the way I started recognizing patterns in the conversations, or the quiet satisfaction of a successful transaction, hinting that complexity was just a veil over familiarity. 

Maybe it was in the growing comfort of my mind opening up. Or maybe it was me finally understanding that 'new' wasn't a synonym for 'complex,' but for 'opportunity.'

The fear  we feel at the start? It isn’t weakness. It the fear that naturally comes when we're standing at the edge of something unfamiliar. The confusion? That isn't failure. It's learning. That is growth.

No one told me that newness feels like difficulty. But Bitcoin did. 

Beginnings often wear the mask of hardship. When you’re just starting out—whether it’s in the Bitcoin space, chasing your dreams away from your comfort zone, or simply trying to become the person you’ve always wanted to be—it will feel uncomfortable. Maybe even impossible. 

But it isn’t. Because over time, the new becomes familiar. And the things that once made you feel confused become part of you.

I remember my first Bitcoin class. I was terrified to speak. My voice shook, my heart raced, and my mind ran in circles. But today, I lead discussions. I pitch ideas. I ask questions. The only thing that changed was time and my willingness to stay, even when it felt too big for me.

I remember my first Bitcoin class with The Core. I was a jumble of nerves and confusion, like why do I need to study BITCOIN?

But today, I'm building my own project in the Bitcoin space (The Creative Bitcoiners).

This realization brought me peace: “It’s not complex. It’s just new.” And newness is not something to run away from, it's something to embrace.

So if you’re reading this and you’re in the middle of something that feels too complex—pause. Breathe. Ask yourself: is it really complex? 

Or is it just new?

Because one day, what you think was complex, might become the very thing that makes you genuinely happy
