I have basic DNS filtering set up at home, but I quickly realized that with three teenagers, they can easily bypass any restrictions. I’ve always refused to install surveillance tools, as that would be completely inconsistent with the values I stand for every day.
That said, my wife and I spend a lot of time discussing privacy, security, and propaganda with our kids. They know we trust them by default—but also that there would be consequences if they were to break that trust.
Hopefully they won't exist anymore. Especially at scale.
I'll be happy with local governance with people who have skin in the game and can face reputational damage.
Realistically, they will become a relic of the past that can barely sustain itself though the monopoly of violence.
Simple coinos custodial setup, when I started that was the only way to accept BOLT12 without running your own node (as I had issues with mine)
I move my funds to another non-custodial once a week...
I'll have to take the necessary time to use my self-hosted AlbyHub at one point, now that they support BOLT12 offers.
It's a community full of woke furries, which is very sad because it's a great project.
Bring back Eelco Dolstra, who I thought was only forced to publish that bullshit announcement that effectively pushed him out: https://discourse.nixos.org/t/nixos-foundation-board-giving-power-to-the-community/44552
What a gong show.
I hope NixOS is going to move away from all this CoC, various committees, politics and snowflakeness nonsense and only focus on maintaining their distro.

Just bought this one https://www.bee-link.com/products/beelink-ser9-pro-365
A good powerful little machine. I installed linux on it, but i think it comes preinstalled with windows.
I have been using a LTE Modem as a backup for a while.
In a failover setup, in case my main fiber connection goes down...
Has anyone manage to connect to AlbyHub for receiving?
It only timeouts after I add my connection string for receiving... And after 5 minutes the connection is deleted from my Alby hub dashboard. 😕
All good for sending...
They probably won't react, they are only interested in making sure that the nanny state will protect their "free" social benefits.
For this, they will protest loudly for a couple of weeks and go back to being sheep while thinking they are lions.
disclaimer: I left France 25 years ago 😉
were you on the "global" feed?
notes from the "following" feed is better as you get some sort of web of trust / reputation, because you consciously choose who you follow and that what they post is of your liking.
The nice thing is that if you publish long form articles to Nostr relays as NIP-23 events, they will render like blog posts in some Nostr clients...
You are definitely right about
POSSE
. I am trying to be better at this :)Related to Nostr, you can see relays as being alternative syndication targets, and ideally will always publish to one that you control directly or which you trust the hosts/maintainers.
i like restauration videos, they are weirdly soothing and you learn about so many techniques... for example:
Thanks for sharing.
