Yes. Not sure if I should stop using Trezor... Ledger is not open source. A dilemma.
onboarding is difficult. work at a marketplace that only sells stuff in crypto, my parents have talked about buying stuff from it for about a year now, and still haven't. The friction is quite high.
Countries that would absolutely benefit today by - Argentina and Afghanistan - inflation & cut-off from outside banking sector.
disagree with bitcoin maxi's premises. reminds of a school bully who clearly has some self-esteem issues. yesterday I made a post on SN about a video Bitcoin University put out about blockchain size of Monero v. Bitcoin. I think he called me retarded like 4 times without actually making any points. Toxic bitcoin maximalism will trick noobies out of fear with herd mentality , but eventually I think the better tech wins out. if you can't be too self-critical, you are relying on network effects only which isn't really sustainable long-term?
Also Monero's supply can be audited it just takes really long to do so
That assumes you get to make the distinction between public and private.
Only if something is private by default do *you get to selectively choose when something becomes public.
Privacy = selectively choosing to reveal your identity. Read Brandeis.
Also, not everyone has the ability to "confront anybody... not hide". Ie Afghanistan.
awesome. don't worry about me ;)
if you have nothing to hide, you don't really have much to say either.
not reasonable at all. Dark market adoption is very high with Monero. There is a small project to get xmr in Afghanistan, which is a real use case under oppressive regimes. But hey if number go up, nothing else matters am i right??
Excellent write-up. I haven't actually tried out Sparrow wallet yet.
Would add though for on-chain "burner wallets", the transaction is not deleted. Even though you immediately use a coin joiner and abandon the wallet, there is still a chance your outputs could be traced non-deterministically (depending on how well the coins were mixed).
