Today I'm sharing a set of photos that might seem a bit random, but each one has a story from the moment it was taken.

I'll start with this photo I took while walking, as usual, in my city's park. I saw a man carrying his little dog in a very adorable way, so I asked if I could take a photo:

Another day in the same park, another situation happened with a dog. When it saw kids playing with a ball, it ran to join them and wouldn't let them catch the ball, haha. Then something very curious happened. It turns out the dog knew a trick where it would walk between people's legs, so it decided to do it with one of the kids as a "way to ask for a reward," which in this case was the ball. It was really funny to watch. In the photo, the owner was already taking the dog away from the kid...

The next photo is one i took casually while walking through the park. The girl looked very peaceful sitting on that bridge, surrounded by her three dogs pets...

In another part of the city, I saw this parked car and took a photo because it had a peculiar paint job that I'd never seen before.

The next photo is of a building in front of where I live, and I tried to take a night shot. I liked the result.

 I took the next photo because I liked the play of light and shadows.

The next photos are of my cats. In the first photo, he was looking at me with the camera in hand (he doesn't like to be photographed) and had an annoyed look.

But when he saw his mom, his face completely changed, and he gave her a baby-like look.

Not so random

Pilates class photographs

Today I bring you a new set of photographs of the urban landscape of my city. This time I chose photos where the city didn't look empty. My intention with these photos is to show that Venezuela is still full of people who strive to get ahead in this country.

So the first photo is of this street full of life, cars, and people, with a very steep street in front.

I like the urban aspect of the next photo with the buildings in the background.

The next three photos are of some very busy streets in my city. As you can see, it's full of parked cars because this is a commercial area.

After taking those photos, I went to another part of the city, and that's why I'm sharing two photos that I really liked because they evoke that feeling of movement.

In Venezuela, it's very common to see people asking for money at traffic lights.

I really like the next three photos because the lines on the ground act as leading lines and invite you to explore the photos.

I often say that Venezuela feels like it's stuck in time, in the 90s, and this photo with the public transportation and the old car definitely gives that feeling.

I took the next photo to tell you something about our peculiar way of life. Those 3 groups of people you see in the photo are the closest thing we have to a currency exchange. Those people exchange the different types of currencies we use in my city (Venezuelan Bolívares, Colombian pesos, and US dollars).

Urban landscapes from Venezuela

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to take photos again at my friends' pilates studio. They needed some photos for social media advertising, and I helped them create the photos while they taught the class.

My job was to document the entire class without interfering. I was taking photos while they were giving instructions. Obviously, all the students gave us their permission to be photographed.

When the class ended, we took the opportunity while both instructors had some free time to take a couple of portraits together. They already had some ideas in mind, and they turned out very cool!

One of the photo sessions I enjoy the most is for birthdays, and thank God I frequently have clients for this type of photo.

The photos I'll show you today are of a girl who was about to turn 25 and wanted to do a studio photo session.

The girl wore a very beautiful red outfit with flowers and a cake to make it a birthday theme.

The red of her dress matched very well with the red of the flowers, and the girl looked beautiful and happy. It's worth mentioning that red is her favorite color.

For all the photos, I used my CANON RP camera with a 50mm lens at 2/f and a single light source, a speed lite flash with a 50cm octabox at 45 degrees from the girl.

We explored different poses to get variety in the photos.

The girl also brought number balloons, and I took a couple of photos with the balloons. This was our favorite photo:

Since the girl's outfit was so pretty, it was worth taking a couple of photos without accessories, so she could use these photos in a more casual way.

i put a cube in the set to vary the poses, and the result was very good!

Something I like about taking urban landscape photos is that the urban landscape can be extremely different everywhere. Not even the closest city is the same as this one, let alone other countries with all their cultural differences. So it makes me excited to think that maybe people who see these photos from another continent might find these urban landscape photos of a city in Venezuela interesting.


This first photo I took is a well-known place in this city, its name is the Obelisco de los Italianos (Obelisk of the Italians) and as its name suggests, it was a gift from Italy.

Some ordinary buildings, I took the photo because I liked how it looked surrounded by many trees.

The next photo is 70% trees and 30% other things...

And that is precisely one of the things I love most about this city, we are surrounded by a lot of nature and everywhere you look you can see trees, even in the middle of an alley:

The next photo is of a soccer field in a neighborhood and it is also surrounded by many, many trees.

The next two photos are of another soccer field in another part of the city, the particularity of this field is that it is made of artificial grass.

The city where I live is very fond of soccer and that is why there are so many fields throughout the city, this is another field in the middle of a neighborhood:

In this city, soccer is literally culture.

In this neighborhood I also saw a couple of old cars, from their appearance I would say they are no longer in use.

In Venezuela it is common to see trucks full of water bottles, they sell these bottles to the communities.

A few days ago, a friend who is the CEO of a ride-sharing company in my city told me their anniversary was coming up. I offered to take some photos as an anniversary gift, we set a day, and  today i will share the photos we made that day!


 My friend hired two models and invited all of her company's drivers, calling them together for a time close to night... 


The first three photos were with the models, i took these while we waited for everyone to arrive.

After finishing the photo session, we went for literally one beer as a celebration, and at that moment my friend had an idea for a photo to use on social media saying, "If you're going to drink alcohol, don't drive, call us."

Portraits for a business anniversary

A few days ago, I was hired by a group of friends to take some portraits of them on a special day for them.

This group of young people rented a house with a pool for a work celebration, and they also hired me to take photos of them on this very special day.

I took many different photos of them that day, but in this post, I'll only show you the portraits I took because I really liked them!

I photographed almost everyone, and to achieve variety, I explored the different areas of the place, trying to change the background between photos.

But sometimes it happened that the guys wanted their photo with that same background, so sometimes I had to repeat the background with different people, hahaha.

For all these photos, I used my Canon RP camera with a 50mm lens at 2.8f to create a nice background blur, and I was helping everyone with the poses.

Portraits for a group of friends

Another day out on the streets searching for interesting things to photograph. This time, my goal was to take street photos with people as the main focus, so I kept my eyes wide open for any interesting individuals to photograph.

Like this lady walking with a basket on her head, it amazed me how perfectly she did it!

I took the next photo because I saw the gentleman walking with a super interesting hat, and then upon closer inspection, I realized he was wearing some kind of sheriff's badge, impressive!

The next photo is of a homeless person, the interesting thing about the photo is that he was surrounded by his canine friends.

The typical kiosk on a Venezuelan street, the man in the photo was eating empanadas, which is a very typical Venezuelan food here, and next to him, the essential companion, sauces for the empanadas.

In another part of the city, I saw this gentleman walking with a very cool, classic style and his glasses.

Further down that same street, I came across a horse in the middle of the city, I found it quite curious!

The next two photos I'll show you are of fruit and vegetable markets that are very typical to find throughout the city, and these places usually have very cheap prices!

Street Photography from venezuela

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a videographer at a wedding. My job was to document the entire process and ceremony, but at the same time I took the opportunity to take a couple of photos, and it is precisely those photos that I want to share with you today!

While the bride was finishing getting dressed, I took a walk around the place recording the decorations, and in that moment I saw the daughter who, with great curiosity and excitement, asked me to take photos of her. I accepted because I know that these photos will be very special for the mother.

Then I went to check if the bride was ready, and she was. She asked me to take a photo of her with her mother:

A while later we asked them to dedicate a few minutes of their time to take a couple of portraits of them as a couple and although my job was to record video, I was able to take two photos!

It's a funny thing about life, ever since I did my first session of 'polas' it was like I had 'unlocked' them, and now I've been doing a lot more polas. This time, I worked with a modeling agency who needed these photos for their portfolio.

Pola photos are like a model's ID. They are simple photos, without much retouching or makeup, that show what the model is like naturally. These photos help agencies and clients see the model's potential and what they really look like.

I worked with several models that day and we did the same types of photos for all of them to make everything flow quickly. The first photo was a close-up:

There were 8 models and I had to photograph them all in less than 1 hour, so we had to devise an efficient way to work to carry out the task and in the end we succeeded!

This was a photo session I did for a client in the park of my city. We chose this location because the client wanted more casual photos and also because this place is very large and we could vary the photo scenarios. 

The first photo I took was of him walking "casually" in the park.

And then we went to the basketball courts since he usually plays there daily so it was a place that meant a lot to him.

Then the man changed his shirt to vary things up, the first photos I took of him were with him putting on a cap:

For all these photos I used my new CANON R8 camera with a 24-105mm lens and a light reflector to better take advantage of the natural light.

 We explored different poses, with and without glasses.

And to finish, he changed his shirt again for a more formal one and I took two close-up photos, the man told me he needed these photos to update his portfolio profile photograph.

Some insane lights tonight

A few days ago I was hired by a family to document their son's baptism and I was able to take some very beautiful photos that I want to share with you today.

It was the typical Catholic baptism with all the elements of its ceremony, although it was very fast!

The first photo I took was when they were doing the water anointing of the child:
