The negative effects of teenagers having a smart phone are far worse than not having one. There are other ways to communicate and coordinate with friends than a smartphone. Many positives of a smart phone can be achieved using things like a dumb phone(or even a smart watch) or a computer.

The last people I am worried about when trying to decide how to raise my children are govt funded schools and teachers but If i decided it necessary to use an app for education I would prefer a tablet over smart phone.
If, on the other hand, you manage to keep your teenage daughters without smartphones and without making them feel marginalized, I give you all my sincerest congratulations.
I will try my best. I hope you can keep your daughter off instagram and snapchat etc...

I do have children who will not be getting a smart phone despite what any school or teacher may do. You could get your child a tablet for school work only and not a smartphone.

I don't think young teenagers should have smartphones. The negatives far outweigh any positives. There are many better options to give a young teen for communication(calls and texts) than a smartphone.

Casa, unchained and nunchuck all provide this service without you having to trust them with the money. You do have total custody of your bitcoin and they have no way to move it. You are trusting them with setting a multsig wallet up but not with the keys. You are able to trustlessly spend your money without them.
You can do this yourself with a wallet like sparrow but should read/study everything you can about multisig wallet setups before you do. There is a lot of good material out there. One thing you want to make sure you do is store all the public keys for each hardware wallet(sparrow makes this very easy). The main value these companies provide is walking newbies through the process of setting up a mulitsig wallet and helping eliminate possible things that could go wrong. You can easily learn most of it yourself but it takes some time.

And we have to realize: today, for Bitcoin to be a solution to your problems, you have to be a bitcoiner. Otherwise you wouldn’t go through the pain of using it, and you would choose other, better, solutions for your problems.
This paragraph is very odd to me. There is not a better solution to my problems than using bitcoin. If there was I would use it. Why would one become a bitcoiner if they didn't think it was the best solution to the problems they face. I doubt many bitcoiners think there are better solutions to the problems they face. .
Products which will hide the technical complexities and become truly accessible to most of the world.
If people don't understand the complexities(at least the general ideas) of bitcoin they will eventually do something silly that prohibits them from experiencing all the freedom that comes with bitcoin. People will enter their seed phrases where they shouldn't or hold their keys with custodians etc... There is a risk of making things too easy for " most of the world".

For on chain bitcoin all you need is the seed phrase(derivation path and/or adress type would be helpful too). For lightning channels you need a bit more. Do you remember saving a file called a secure channel backup or having a .scb file extension.
I'm not familiar with umbrel so much but it looks like they have an automatic backup feature that you could restore funds with a new umbrel setup and your 24 word backup. This video may help you. https://x.com/umbrel/status/1562099972547690501

When the second bot realizes it knows the private key it has to create and broadcast a transaction with a slightly higher fee than the first not. When the first bot sees this transaction it creates a new transaction with a higher fee. And so on and so forth until the transaction is all fees.
The reason it has to do with brain wallets is because people are using insecure methods to generate a private key like taking a common phrase and hashing it with sha256 and using that as a private key.(this is what brain wallets are. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Brainwallet#Obsolete_Brainwallet_Style). And these bots keep databases of billions of addresses generated this way and as soon as money is sent to one of them the race is on as to who can spend it first.

Legacy wallets are different than brain wallets. Legacy wallets are not compromised.

There appears to be a bug in the calculation and anything over 808 confirmations at 48 percent of the hash rate says 100 percent reorg risk. 800 confirmations fives 5 percent reorg risk and if that calculation is correct than every confirmation after that will be lower than 5 percent.
