Regarding the lightning territory: #536186
I have around 15 BTC on my local side, but still face the same issue. Having a bit more remote balance is fine, but I still prefer to cut off channels that don't perform. There's still the struggle of having outbound liquidity where I want it to have, and it's far from perfect. For me or means having a bit of channel churn and, sadly, some routing failures.
Maybe it's worth it to look at broader trends and statistics? The price you're paying includes labor, infrastructure, tax, and possibly investments into new (renewable) power plants. Inflation also plays a role here.

The money could be used to invest into public transport. There's very little need for innovation in that sector. Just build more trains/tracks, provide more buses, ... Additionally, you could invest into making cities more walkable, and provide better/safer bicycle paths. To the best of my knowledge, walking/cycling/taking the bus is much cheaper than taking a car.
We already have way too many cars, EV or not. And reducing CO2 emissions is absolutely necessary, putting a cost on CO2 is something I applaud!

If you run multiple nodes, all nodes must reference all sibling nodes - forming a so called family. This is used by clients so that each circuit only uses at most one of the nodes in each family. Otherwise, if more than one node of a family is used, the admin of these nodes might be able to gain insights into the user's traffic.
This search term uses one of the nodes' IDs and queries for all nodes that belong to the same family - i.e. nodes run by me.
