just now was able to cpfp'd my tx with zeus. zeus rocks.
A Wordpress plugin for payments in lightning straight to the vendor's exchange account.
I plan to at least implement to Bitfinex, Buda and Bitaroo.
The problem is that there is a 50+ days queue for new WP plugin submissions, so I am polishing the first version with just 1 exchange and learning how to properly unit test the plugin so I won't get it rejected.
FYI I got a reply from them. They updated the ToS and removed that part on item 7.

I read there is point 20
20. Open Source Components
This Agreement acknowledges the use of open-source components in umbrelOS, which are governed by their respective licenses. Users must comply with the terms of these licenses when using the software.
I do not know if I can freely use FOSS like BTCPay within non FOSS like Umbrel.
Thanks Aaron for your comments. I actually asked them now to clarify in their website. I am not from the US, but I still would like an answer from them. Also there are the LNBits shop extensions (nostr and web) that I would like to offer in the future. This TOS are not clear about it either.
Good to know about Runcitadel update. I tried it last year (feb 2022) and it worked great (was like the 2021 Umbrel UI which is great). I am a bit more used to the current Umbrel UI, but if I cannot stay in Umbrel I would def go to Runcitadel since I have used it before.
Https not an issue for me since I use a tiny vps proxy for traffic with tailscale.
When will you launch it?
Thanks for informing!
I have set up both LNBits and BTCPay apps in my umbrel node.
IMHO btcpay purpose is to allow commercial sales.
I have one store using my btcpay instance actually. Is this not allowed?
I fail to see the logic in allowing BTCPay app in umbrel, and forbidding commercial use at the same time.
Thanks.
I did not fully understand the proposal, but could be useful in some scenarios. Inbound liquidity will always be an issue in lightning. However once enough channels are open, the issue will affect less.
IMHO L1 funds are always kept with the keys, and only in the mining process those funds are subject to some risk (near 0 of course) of been taken in an attack (51%, Double spend, etc).
Additional consensus instances that will put ownership in the limbo (like liquid or this one) is something I would not like to experiment with.
I used to visit Amboss for network information such as what new channels should I open and nodes uptime. But since I saw the Ordimint ad in their website, I stopped.
I know they need revenues, but IMHO that is going a bit too far.
Great video thanks!
Yeah I have similar questions as skreep_.
Above all, I would like the full node phones to be able to validate everything, I mean so they can reject or help protecting the network in an eventual user activated soft fork.
I may be misunderstanding zkp and utreexo. As long as my phone/POS can do what my home node can in terms of consensus power, that would be great!
Thanks!
I look forward for the Jade one with a TTGO ESP32. By far the cheapest one. Probably I will try flashing it next month. The risks I see are the chance of bricking the firmware by loosing the keys used for encrypting the device.
Yes. And it is probably quite hard to maintain a separate version in the long term.
I look at Btcd (from Lightning Labs): for every relevant upgrade the c++ version has got, the guys that maintain Btcd have to review and update it every time, so that they can keep up.
And we have seen the crashes Btcd had in oct/2022 when those big txs where sent by burak.
An Android/iOS version will have to receive a lot of reviewing by their maintainers.
