True, well said
No because it's not sustainable in the long term and as we all know the money printer has its consequences
For starters their coin will go through a halving in a few days, slashing the mining subsidy in half, so they'll have half of the printed money to pump their scam and it won't be as attractive to miners anymore. And the coin is definitely not going up in price to make up for it
But Qubic alone may not be a threat but this period has indeed being an "annoyance" so it shows something to be fixed still and the community is discussing proposals to prevent this type of selfish mining in the future, but there is no urgency and no threat for now. https://github.com/monero-project/research-lab/issues/136
A big increase in marketing does sound like it would increase its market exposure and attract more users, so their marketing play and everyone talking about them worked and the increase makes sense.
but it's still a nothing-burger for Monero, if it was this easy for anyone to "wreck it", it isn't getting any easier, a new player now would have to compete with all the current XMR miners, plus the Qubic attackers, driving up difficulty even further then each will have a smaller share of rewards and even less of a overall effect
It's not "nothing is happening" it's the opposite actually, everything is coincidentally timed to happen at the same time. Targeted attack? nothing to see here...
but in regards to the "attack" it is a nothing-burger, but it's just adding up to the rest of things to FUD about
I'm assuming Abacus is Lightning or cashu, with the privacy benefits opposed to onchain?
hell no lmao there are 0 (zero) DNMs that use lightning or even worse cashu
with that now there's only monero based markets nowadays but even them get shutdown from time to time, it's usually other things involved other than the coin used but preferring XMR is less things to worry about for them
meh it sounds like a mixture of the Apple model, with a versioning model to sound smart, that way they can brand it as a new version, but not really that great because it's a "middle version", so there's a lot of hype for "whole number" versions, like OpenAI milking what they can right now to create huge expectations for GPT-5, "if version 4.1 and 4.2 and 4.3 etc.... are this good, just imagine version 5!!!!"
then they keep raising money from investors in the meantime
Apple can't release a new phone every month due to logistics of a physical device, and people don't switch phones so quickly, so they just release a new whole number version every year (or a variant like iphone SE)
well of course there is no mention of LN, if you open dread today there's zero discussion about LN on the darknet

A coinjoin transaction combines inputs from multiple Bitcoin users
Great post first time I see all quotes laid out like this. There's prob more out there we can save this and keep adding up
sure, Monero has been gaining value versus BTC ever since november but that doesn't mean bitcoin is a shitcoin and the thesis is go all in Monero and get governments and institutions to buy Monero, and bitcoiners will HFSP. see the difference? You can talk about price but not go crazy on it
they are maximalists, which means investing only in Bitcoin forever in hopes that it goes up in value forever. People that use Monero on the other hand don't care about its price, even though the price isn't bad, but using untraceable money and making the state weaker is more important
run the biggest coordinator become a central point of failure become a deanonymization vector take zero fees gets paid somehow (still didn't answer) tells everyone to use HIS coinjoin and goes away when someone says the word "joinmarket" or "p2p"
All the kruw red flags
Well you were not scared when Monero took over the dark web, let's see when it starts absorbing the clearnet and local markets as well...
You all think too small
Monero is literally undergoing the biggest upgrade in all of the history of cryptocurrency. Do you still not grasp what FCMPs++ are capable of? It's literally a game changer for all of the space and for the future of humanity, I'll give a TLDR:
- Decoys stop existing. Monero is no longer "like a coinjoin"
- "ZCash style privacy" is also a term that stops existing. Often people in the crypto space says something has "zcash style privacy" to say "perfect privacy", Monero will have superior assurances and make zcash and its technology, and all other "privacy coins" irrelevant
- By killing decoys, Monero's weakest link gets eliminated, it kills all possible chainanalysis
- CARROT addresses to support a wide range of use cases like PoS validating, administration tiers
- Forward secrecy, for some quantum resistance
- TX Chaining, enables payment channel network designs (like Lightning)
This is not "just better privacy", it adds better usability, layers on top of it for payment processing, etc.
This the exact reason why Monero is the only thing bitcoiners fear... because it thinks too big, and it actually delivers, without a pre-mine or a foundation behind like other cryptos, it's purely a community effort to perfect the protocol design
Even @supertestnet has said that when this is live, bitcoin and LN will not be able to compete... Monero will have zero weaknesses and the only steps needed forward will be achieving full quantum resistance
