Not everyone has the technical knowledge to run a node.
I'm still torn apart if I want to try to be profitable (I'd need bigger channels probably and close channels to friends which almost never route transactions, the onchain fees are quite high at times especially if big nodes just close the channel for no reason every now and then...) or try to "help" the lightning network.
Connecting to lots of obscure nodes with no/low fees is the most helpful for the network. Or is being profitable also the most helpful for the network because it provides liquidity where it is needed?
Bitcoin is the digital equivalent to paper cash. It is crazy that some people think this was a provocative idea.
No Karen, we just want the green piece of cloth with Benjamin Franklin on it on the internet and a hard currency which is also something people tried to achieve for millenia with rare metals or funny looking shells. It's not provocative.
If the west finds a method to stop this, russia will just open accounts in fake-identity peoples names or create foundations or shell companies. At some point it's just money laundering, really.
It's so ridiculous. Technologies are indifferent about how they are being used. Nobody would say that because Putin uses the internet or drives a Mercedes.

The biggest argument IMO ist that
Bitcoin incentivizes renewable energies because it allows renewable energy producers to monetize in off-hours. We should stress this argument more rigorously.Is this a cash for giftcard and giftcard for bitcoin service? If yes, I applaud them. Kind of confused why they aren't much more widespread anyway.
