Have been listening to you guys (awesome that you do a weekly show btw) in your response to #997414 (Obvious Question is Obvious).
"This is what you wanted". No, no it's not not really.
Your Keys Your Coins - Not Your keys Not Your Coins.
"This is what you wanted" in regards to conferences and 'adoption'....
Again not your keys not your coins. Owning Bitcoin is the spark, that no-one can take it away from you and the empowerment that comes from that. The tools, the education, the sovereignty, the 'game theory'...
The "real" conferences in Prague and Oslo that focus on actual freedom recognize what NYKNYC really means... and so the lack of on-chain usage even to open Lightning channels means people are not learning to use Bitcoin.
They (people?) are just paying to have someone else hold the Bitcoin for them.
Which means they don't learn. They don't expand their horizons. They don't try Lightning... they don't make that peer-to-peer connection which will be important in the future Bitcoin economy if there is one.
If you think (with all due respect) that the "suits" CARE about Bitcoin I have a bridge to sell you. The node-runners, the plebs, the vibe-coders staying up drinking diet-coke creating cool Bitcoin apps THOSE are the people that carry the Bitcoin torch and keep it healthy.
And the lack of on-chain monetary activity means there aren't enough of them yet that's the basic point.
Furthermore the Bitcoin network is designed to eventually incorporate transaction fees as the sole/majority provider of miner revenue... and if there is no on-chain demand I don't know what the future holds. SOME miners will mine regardless... but the lack of on-chain IMO means a deep and impactful lack of Education with regards to what Bitcoin really means.
We should always ask questions and the question 'where is everyone' among the 8 billion people and overwhelming benefits of self-custody... is clear and consequential.
Please don't confuse the NGU morons with actual Bitcoiners who hold their own keys and see Bitcoin as the cure 'for the internet's ills'... much less for Humanity's human-rights shortcomings.
Thanks.

No that was the point we are passing each other on the highway from what I was trying to explain. This is what the entire ecosystem wanted and begged for since 2023 go back and watch SNL December that year I was literally saying everything was going to change post Bitcoin ETF and no one believed me. I recorded a Thriller Bitcoin podcast with Vlad that same year telling him this where we were headed. Everyone thought I was crying wolf and over reacting. That’s why I said what I said.

This doesn't make any sense. So basically you're saying...
There's no point to self-custody.
Don't hold your own keys.
Don't ever 'spend' Bitcoin.
Don't run a node.
Don't use Lightning (because why would you?)
And go buy the ETF and let the custodian hold the Bitcoin for you... because that's what 'everyone wants'.
What's even the point of Bitcoin then?
I don't know what 'ecosystem' you're talking about. And yes I watched plenty of podcasts and interviews in 2023.

Did you not watch SNL last night I literally called those things out as being conducive to the result you obviously cannot understand in your post?
