This week, on The Stacker Sports Podcast, we will mourn the loss of episode 34, but we'll also probably talk about new sports stuff.
For example, the NBA Finals got off to an amazing start. My "top 5 Hali" take is looking less and less dumb. Do we really believe in the Pacers yet, though?
We might also start our NBA off-season speculation. Which big stars are on the move? Which good teams are making big changes?
I actually did watch some of the NHL Finals game, but I didn't stay up for the end. Why are these games on so late?
Aaron Rodgers finally has a team for next season and the Steelers finally have a QB for next season. Does this match make sense?
@grayruby also has some hopium to share about why the 49ers big offseason acquisition will be much better than he was last year, when he "played for" the Super Bowl champs.
The Rockies are still historically bad, but they're no longer on pace to catch the Cleveland Spiders for the MLB record.
There might also be some MLB trade talk.
And, of course, we'll recap the ~Stacker_Sports contests.
What else do you want to hear about, stackers?

I'll state the obvious rumors, KD and Giannis will get traded this off season. Not sure about destination though. Thoughts?
reply
Giannis is clearly coming to the Raptors.

I'll do a whole series of NBA post mortems for us to brainstorm.
I do not believe that Toronto has any shot at Giannis, though. If he wants to compete, then there aren't that many possible teams, because good teams don't usually have the kinds of resources to trade for Giannis without blowing up their team. Houston and OKC are the most obvious options, especially if OKC loses. Milwaukee also has no reason to tank, because they don't have their pick next year, so getting back good young players in the deal is something they'd want.
I really don't know for KD, but I'm willing to predict that whoever trades for him will regret doing so.

You also didn't believe the Bucks would win the NBA Cup,. He is coming to the Raps.
reply
I have a losing bet slip that proves I thought the Bucks could win the title this year.

Mets took the dodgers to the woodshed.
And as much as it pains me to say Tyrese Hailburton is becoming a real star. Another game one clutch winner. He’s giving Jordan, Kobe and BIG SHOT ROB! Some competition

Mets and Dodgers series ended 2-2 with 2 of the games going to extra innings. Mets did have that one lopsided victory and for the most part played better than the Dodgers but I wouldn’t classify it as taking them to the woodshed. Mets are looking very good this year though. I think I should have had them ahead of the Phillies since the Phillies have pretty substantial bullpen issues.

Let me have my moment haha.

If not for a late Dodgers comeback Mets would have won the series 3-1. I do think they played better overall. Dodgers have some starting pitching issues with Glasnow, Sasaki and Ohtani all still out but I expect they will tread water until the trade deadline.
I really enjoyed that series. I am hoping for an NLCS rematch.

I will give you a very quick topic:
Rate The SandLot movie on 1-10 scale compared to other baseball movies..

I haven’t seen it in a while, but it was definitely a staple of my childhood.
reply
It’s one of the better baseball movies.
