The US has sent Iran a proposal for a nuclear deal between Tehran and Washington, the White House confirmed on Saturday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he had been presented with "elements of a US deal" by his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi during a short visit to the Iranian capital.
It comes after a report by the UN nuclear watchdog said Iran had further stepped up its production of enriched uranium, a key component in the making of nuclear weapons.

Iran surely understands that key to its continued existence as a sovereign nation is dependent upon gaining nuclear weapons, just like other Chinese aligned economies, N.Korea and Russia. USA cannot sanction China which supports the economies and consequent military viability of Iran, Russia and N.Korea because USA is now dependent upon Chinese supply chains. USA might still depend upon Israel to attack Iran if a deal is not reached but such an attack could ultimately result in the destruction of Israel. Unable to end the war in Ukraine the USA cannot afford the Middle East to break out into a major war. The USA looks increasingly unable to project its will upon Chinas growing alliance of nations operating outside of its USD/SWIFT hegemony. China has won the trade war and its military proxies-economic subordinates are increasingly overwhelming US global hegemony.

Sounds like more made up nonsense from the UN to me. "the IAEA stated that it 'cannot verify" this'" - no evidence then. When will Israel's nuclear weapons be inspected I wonder?

This is an interesting development. The fact that Oman is mediating signals how backchannel diplomacy is still crucial. It also shows how the recent IAEA report on Iran’s uranium enrichment is pushing the US to act quickly. Let’s see if this leads to real progress or just another cycle of talks without resolution.

Look at the background too. Iran bore brutality from the transition from British Empire to US global resource hegemony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammad_Mosaddegh
