Ironically, the main purpose of the BIP is to correct this misconception. Base units are not divisible and millisats do not actually exist (look it up)

they exist on higher levels. if you are arguing that way, then currently the base unit is 546 Satoshi and anything smaller than that does not exist. please keep showing everyone how much smarter you are.

I think this would actually cause more confusion. I think people have acquiesced and accepted the relative high fiat value of Bitcoin. I don’t think that cognitive association is going to go away or needs to.
Maybe an argument can be made to add more denominations aside from satoshis though?
