pull down to refresh

Final and one of my least favourites. I completely turned down randomness and this board was rough.
All in all not a bad haul. I would be happy if the 49ers did something like this. I would have liked to get CB and a second DT earlier. I should have punted on RB until the 7th round but I don't think Kyle will be willing to do that. He is going to draft one in the mid rounds.
Those are pretty solid day 2 and 3 guys for their spots. Hopefully, you get more bang for your buck on day 1.
I'd probably go for LB with that first 4th rounder and try to grab a receiver at 100.

Kyle Williams will probably go late in the third. That was a good get early 4th. I do think they will take a WR in the third either pick 75 or 100.
Personally I would rather have Mike Green than Mykel Williams but I don't think he is on their board due to the off the field issues. Williams is probably their second highest edge after Carter and Carter ain't falling to 11.

Walker would be interesting. I have seen a couple pundits mock him to the 49ers but he isn't really a scheme fit. Seems more like a true OLB than Edge rusher and would be better in a 3-4 but maybe Saleh will be making some changes to the D scheme so who knows.

I agree that he's an interesting prospect, but it's not clear if he needs to be a scheme fit or if he's versatile.
I've been wondering the same thing about Abdul Carter, but in the other direction. Can he play LB well enough to be on the field with Crosby and Koonce?
reply
Carter is the next Micah Parsons. Hopefully he can actually stop the run unlike Micah.

Sad

Sad that the Rams need to draft a QB in the first or second round because their pro bowl QB is almost as old as me. Ok that is an exaggeration. He isn't that old but he is old.

CB is way too late!

I would have liked earlier and they do need a CB3 but if you don't go first two rounds CB it dries up quick. They have bigger needs than CB that need to be addressed in the first two rounds. Plus they have had a lot of success at picking LB and DB late and developing them into pro bowl caliber players. Their best CB was a 5th round pick. Their best S was a 4th round pick. The best LB in the entire league, Fred Warner, was a 3rd round pick. They are really good in the middle rounds.
With the needs they have both at Edge, DL and after this season OL taking an early corner is probably a luxury they can't afford unless they trade back and get an extra pick or someone falls to them in the second or early third.
They have met with a lot of corners both earlier and late round guys so we will see.
