So, I need a new phone and my brother, who's a big fan of overpriced and overrated products, suggested me iPhone 16.
I believe it's ridiculously overpriced. I'd instead buy a cheaper phone and a good camera seperately in half of iphone price.
For me Netflix subscription is also ridiculously overpriced but I ended up paying for a monthly subscription because I can't resist watching WrestleMania Live day after tomorrow.
(I know this is a bit subjective question and I don't mean to offend iphone lovers and Netflix audience.)
Still,
I wanna know what Stackers believe is ridiculously overpriced but pay for??
Dance lessons for my daughter. $250 membership fee. Outfits, shoes, tickets to performances and so on. What a great business they built for themselves.
I think we spend over $2500 a year on my daughter's dance school all in but she loves it so it is worth it.
I would like to point out her baseball is only $250 total.

When it's for our kids, the price/money is always secondry. I had realised it the very day when my daughter was born.
Yeah, $2.5k is shocking to me for it can easily get someone lifetime of dance (or any such) training here. But I can relate it with the inflation there. TBH dance, music and other artistic skills training aren't yet seen as a way of business in India for that's not the culture here. Most of the times learning any art form is either free or very very inexpensive here.
However it pains me that art forms like dance and music aren't encouraged among Indian Children like I see it in the western countries. These days evryone is just focusing on creating more and more doctors and engineers.

Got a "nice shirt" comment from the barista this morning for my "Taxation is Theft". He said, "It is!". If it wasn't they wouldn't put you in jail for not paying it...

This! I try my best to pay as little tax as possible, and even that is too much for me

The dollar. The amount of time and effort to earn it is absurd for its purchasing power...
