All the trailers for this show made me think it was going to be another typical hospital show (ER/Chicago Hope/Chicago Med, etc). Nothing wrong with that, just been there, done that.
It's not. The trailers don't mention that this is a show done in real time, like 24. Each episode is an hour in a 15-hour day at an ER. It's intense, it's often gory (like horror movie level at times), and has absolutely fantastic acting from Noah Wylie (definitely not playing the same role as on ER). We binged the entire season to date over the last two days. Probably the most I've been interested in a medical drama since House.

Haven't seen it yet but this show seems to be very well respected on physician forums. Probably the only show beside Scrubs that doctors like (everything else is hot garbage, although Grey's Anatomy started off entertaining).

Wow. Does binging it make it feel like it's all occurring in one day? I've been watching the episodes as it comes out weekly, and it's crazy how much is happening in one day.

It absolutely does! If it weren't for the credits and the "previously on" bits, it could be one continuous movie.

That's a cool format. I will check it out. I was like you and thinking it was just another hospital drama so I didn't bother.

Woah awesome. Gotta check out that one, i suppose

I've been holding off out of fear that it's too much gore and doctor drama, but I like the real time angle.
My aunt is an ER doc and I once asked her what her favorite shift to work is and she said 48 hours continuously lol.

You'll definitely get some gore (heads up for a degloved foot in the pilot), but while there's drama with their personal lives, they make it clear that the medical emergencies never stop, and that's what moves the events forward.

Oh man, the foot sounds brutal
