Nice selections. One of my favourite quotes is:

"'It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it."

That's extremely true.

I sense that you like words. You asked for great movie lines the other day.

Hands down, this quote. Reading it instantly made me feel better about being a parent haha

We suffer more often in imagination than in reality

True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.

Seneca

I got an ancient Chinese quote from Mengzi that I like a lot and often recite to myself whenever I face stress or hardship.

天將降大任於是人也,必先苦其心志,勞其筋骨,餓其體膚,空乏其身,行拂亂其所爲。

It roughly translates to

When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility on a man, it will first test his will with hardship, exhaust his muscles and bones with toil, starve his body and skin, deplete his resources, and frustrate his efforts.
