I'll be seeing Oteil live with Dead & Co. at the sphere in Vegas next week. That was a great Allman Bros. lineup. For the old guys, this was too:

Oooohie! There were some "A Love Supreme" vibes (moving that 1 b3 4 pattern around in 4ths) at the end of that solo. Love it!

He's definitely a Coltrane fan. I think he named one of his kids after a Coltrane song, also he throws in a phrase from "My Favourite Things" near the beginning of the solo before he really takes off with the slide. Unreal performance.
