I prefer Start9. The dev seems more responsive and the documentation is better. Start9 also has less apps, and I think that's a good thing. I use it for my Bitcoin stuff only, all my other apps are hosted elsewhere.

I would say it's good for just running a bitcoin node and electrum server all on their own but I wouldn't run run a node + electrum server along with other home cloud apps.
For a node, I would suggest Start9 and for home apps, I would suggest Umbrel but you have to start somewhere and Umbrel's UI is the best I have ever used.

Agreed. Start9 for Bitcoin, Umbrel for everything else. But I would really suggest Proxmox and LXCs from https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/ . More flexible and no vendor lock-in. Umbrel is just an extra layer you don't need.
