Not sure what the Chiefs are doing here trading their best OL not named Creed Humphrey after their OLine just got decimated in the Super Bowl. I guess the strategy is you have to get worse to get better.
Anyways, good pick up for the Bears provided Thuney still has some gas left in the tank. The question is, was the OLine the reason Caleb Williams got sacked so many times or was it because he is indecisive and held the ball longer than any other QB in the league? Remains to be seen.

They want to get younger on OL

I know they're looking to move their Pro Bowl guard as well.
Maybe the thinking is that Mahomes thrives under pressure, so why not lean into that advantage.

Trey Smith? Didn't they just franchise tag him?
Chiefs need to reassess their entire OLine if they aren't allowed to hold anymore. Were any of these guys any good or did they just become pro bowlers because they played for the Chiefs and were allowed to hold on every play?
Apparently they want to get younger on the OLine.

I think you're right, but I know they had been shopping him or considering just letting him go. I know lots of Raiders fans were adamant that we not pick him up. Apparently, he is pretty bad.
Still, those guys were starting because there wasn't anyone better on the roster, so they need a replacement plan.

I think the Bears were trying to get him but settled on Thuney after they tagged Smith. Bears probably wanted Smith because he is much younger.

If that strategy worked, the Jets would have won a Super Bowl this year.
Seriously, though, a solid trade for the Bears.

Haha. Jets would be a dynasty if that were the case.
Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears draft another OLineman or Jeanty. Johnson is going to try to recreate what he had offensively in Detroit. He has the weapons in the pass game but needed a big upgrade in the OLine and running game.
