Short and sweet — Europe needs it (the warfare State) urgently. There's no other option left. Germany has already announced and the next will be Britain and Italy are next to follow. The trade war that Trump has begun will see more and more nations take stance for themselves.
Do they have any other option? Nooooooo!
The purpose is nothing but survival and Europe can't survive anymore with the welfare stupidity.
The purpose is survival. Europe must never again find itself in a position where the likes of US vice-president JD Vance have life-and-death power over it. All other priorities are secondary.

Yes, I agree. This is just way too much but what Vance did in the meeting with zelensky was celebrated in Moscow and Russia has doubled down on the war. The only fact that everyone has to realize that it was not Ukraine that invaded Russia.
If Russia can go this far knowing America would support Ukraine, it will cross all limits now.

That's ridiculous. Invading Ukraine, which many people predicted would happen because of NATO actions, in no way implies that they want to go further into Europe.
Nor could they, even if they wanted to. Europe is much larger and wealthier than Russia, plus it's further away than Ukraine and would have a much more hostile populace than the majority Russian provinces they've conquered so far.

Not now but they can in future. Even if Russia won't, Europe needs better defense while USA is willing to back away from NATO.
Europe is much larger and wealthier than Russia.
Europe is divided in many many smaller countries while Russia is one and huge. I'm sure you know how big are Lithuania and Latvia?

Yes, but NATO specifically requires almost all of Europe (and the US) to help defend an attacked member.
Russia invading any NATO country just isn't going to happen.

I meant it for when USA would back away from NATO.
I also don't think Russia wants to attack even a non NATO member but it sure doesn't want the extension of it to its borders.
The bone of contention between Ukraine and Russia wasn't only Ukraine willing to join NATO but the ego of Putin.
While Trump called Zelensky a dictator, he forgot that Putin is holding the Chair firmly for more than 2 decades now.
Okay let's end the debate and say Trump is looking forward to 'MAGA' so wants minerals from Ukraine and Putin would let it happen under his eyes! What better days than Russia and USA coming together.
I smell the rise of the same old USA that named peace to economic warfare.
