Once we finished the initial phase of the UEFA Champions League, the tournament moves to the knockout stages. This will take us from March to the end of May, when the final will be played in Munich.

UEFA Champions League final rounds

16 teams will fight for becoming European Champions in May. The draw took place last Friday and has set the road for each team up to the final.
There will be 7 weeks, from last 16 round to the final. Two matches in each round, apart from the final which will be played in Munich between the last two teams. The dates of these rounds are as it follows:
  • March 4-5th: first leg round last 16
  • March 11-12th: second leg round last 16
  • April 8-9th: first leg quarter-finals
  • April 15-16th: second leg quarter-finals
  • April 29-30th: first leg semi-finals
  • May 6-7th: second leg semi-finals
  • May 31st: final

UEFA Champions League survivor pool

  • The pool will have a 1000 sats buy-in.
  • There will be an opportunity for a second buy-in (2000 sats) in case of being eliminated in the round of last 16 or quarterfinals.
  • There will not be an option to buy-in during semifinals or final.
  • Posts for each round will be published Sunday before the matches.
  • Every week stackers must pick a team. You must choose it from the teams that are still playing. If the team loses, the stacker is eliminated unless uses the second buy-in. If the stacker has run out the second buy-in, will be eliminated permanently.
  • Teams can be picked just once.
  • If you miss to provide a team, it will be considered as if your team had lost.
  • In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by correctly guessing the player of the match in the final. If there is still a tie, the winner will be the one who predicts the possession time of the Champion during the final match. If none of them predicts the right number, the winner will be the closer guess.

Prize

The initial pot is 18000 sats which have been donated by @stackersports and me. All sats from buy-ins will be added to the final pot and the winner will receive them in the lightning address of your choice.

Joining the pool

If you are interested in joining this pool, please leave a message and I will answer you. Once I answer you, please zap my comment with 1000 sats. The deadline for joining the pool will be Friday February 28th.
Following advice from @Undisciplined, I need to clarify a couple of points:
  1. Regarding "If you miss to provide a team, it will be considered as if your team had lost." In addition :
+ I will randomly assign a team that won in the week you miss to provide it.

  2. Regarding "If the team loses, the stacker is eliminated unless uses the second buy-in." I need to clarify that:
+ In the event of a draw in the first leg's matches of round of 16,
QF or SF, stackers will not be eliminated.

Are we picking the winning team for each leg round, or are we selecting the team that will advance to the quarterfinals?
reply
You must pick a team for each leg round. There are 7 rounds to the final.

Awesome!
From past experience, you'll have to make a couple of other things clear:
  1. You must choose from the teams that are playing.
  2. If someone doesn't make a pick, there needs to be an extra penalty should they buy back in. Otherwise, they have an advantage, because they have used up fewer teams.

Thanks for the feedback.
You must choose from the teams that are playing.
I had enough time to correct this and appears as "Every week stackers must pick a team. You must choose it from the teams that are still playing." I hope this helps.
Regarding the other point, I will make an amendment and I will pin it at the top. I think that the extra penalty could be to randomly assign one team that won in the previous week. Any extra thoughts?

I did something like the randomly assigned team before. I think that's a good choice.
This should be fun.

Great! I will add it to the rules. Also I need to add some extra rules. I have just noticed that in the first legs of each round, it may happen that the match ends in a draw. In that case, I need to clarify that the stacker will only lose if the team loses.
