San Antonio star Victor Wembanyama is not expected to play again this season after a blood clot condition was found in his right shoulder, a massive blow to the league and the second major health-related hit for the Spurs this season.
Wembanyama's condition — deep vein thrombosis — was diagnosed this week after he returned from the All-Star Game, the Spurs said Thursday. It is almost always treated with blood-thinning medication, which typically precludes a player from participating in a contact sport such as basketball.
Man, this sucks. He was on track to win DPOY too; and with the addition of Fox, they might just be able to push for a playoff spot and get some post season experience. Best of luck to Wemby and hope he fully recovers soon.
I wish you a great recovery and come back as soon as possible. In the next 10 years he will be among the best players in the NBA

Definitely an exciting player to watch. I wish him a long and successful career.

Is this genetic?
reply
I don't know. I have not read or heard anything about it being genetic. Not sure how or why he got this condition.

This will not help the spurs chances.
reply
Definitely not. Spurs will probably miss the playoffs again.

Wow, that’s terrible. Hope he’s ok soon!

Yes, hopefully he recovers soon.

Big surprise. I was scrolling through YouTube during my lunch break and saw a video of CP3 commenting on this, and I was like "WTF?" Searched up the news online and verified the bad news.

That's really scary. People in my family have that. I think it's mostly genetic and usually gets worse with age or injuries.

That really sucks. He was having a breakout year.
reply
Yes, he was having such a great year. But taking care of his health and playing the long game is more important. Wish him well.

I heard Ingram had a similar issue.
