Can someone ELI5 why this is a political/controversial question? As supertestnet said, can't miners already impose extra rules about what goes into their blocks?
The question is probably not meant to be answered (only) on the technical level ("does such a thing as miner-activated softfork (MASF) exist?").
But (additionally), what effects a controversial MASF by a majority of miners would have on the various economic players. How the economic majority would react.
Could we start using something besides youtube? I really hate that they demand I dox myself in order to view the video. I either have to sign in, or turn off my VPN. Not cool.
It's just for phones, though? Not the way I watch video. My eyes aren't that good. Still might install it on my Android, though, just to check it out. Looks cool.
Have you ever torrented before? On a technical level torrenting is the most efficient way to share any file p2p, but it was especially popular before netflix for movie pirating. So yes this project uses torrenting.
Oh so the point of centralization with torrenting is the initial peer finding stage (if memory serves). I forget what the host that tells you who all the peers are is called.
I live by torrenting. A friend of mine has the largest Plex server in existence, I'd wager. Dude spends more money on hard drives than I do on cars! Haha. And now I get it. That's sick.
I see a lot of people posting rumble videos, but I really don't know. Most people here seem more plugged in to the tech world than me. If I understood how Nostr worked I might suggest something on that protocol, but again, I'm not the guy to ask. I don't fully understand the problem.
Guys, PLEASE no more YouTube!!! Let's go with Rumble for now. (Or anyone else's suggestion. I don't have a dog in that race) Anything is better than Google forcing me to dox myself on a site with direct ties to a Bitcoin wallet. Seriously, what the fuck? Knock it off. Break out of your pathos. You know you're good at it.
For a long time, I have been using ZBD, and so far, I have successfully withdrawn $50 worth of Bitcoin (satoshis) from the platform. If you're looking for a fun way to earn Bitcoin while playing games, this guide is for you!
ZBD integrates with various games that support Bitcoin rewards. Once you sign up and connect your wallet, you can start earning sats by engaging with supported games. After reaching a minimum withdrawal threshold, you can cash out your earnings to your Bitcoin Lightning wallet instantly.
ZBD has been a fun and rewarding experience for me, and if you love gaming, it could be for you too! Have you tried ZBD? Share your experience in the comments below!

I like podcasts like this, because with podcasts there are debates that have direction and purpose
Enjoyed the one with Lisa thanks

Lightning.video would be cool but i could never get a video to play
In favour of YT alternatives but what you describe is not my experience. Try NewPipe on a VPN and you can watch it just fine. Plays for me at least.
It's just for phones, though? Not the way I watch video. My eyes aren't that good. Still might install it on my Android, though, just to check it out. Looks cool.
Pretty sure there are alternatives you can run on desktop or a server.
Didn't see any. Link one to me if you spot it and you think of it.
What's your suggestion?
In the future, when this is ready, this will be the way to go (probably) https://github.com/PR0M3TH3AN/bitvid?tab=readme-ov-file
https://bitvid.network/
That is, so long as it does actually use webtorrent and not that shitty IPFS. Its a project I have my eyes on anyway.
It's decentralized? I'm so confused about how that works for something like video hosting. I'll have to read about this.

Super Testnet gave by far the best answer
Ill give it a watch tomorrow
Will this be a podcast as well?
A series, not quite a podcast. So I'll do these rapid fire interviews alongside long-form podcast interviews
Great
This type of material is excellent, especially for those of us who are just starting out on the Bitcoin path. Finding Bitcoin has changed my life.
So what's the CORRECT answer?

Nice
Nice show style
There is already a podcast with this name and format
Had no idea. I do know the 50 Cent song, though.
