Well done! BTCmap pins need more validation from users. Some business owners just put it there for marketing purposes.
reply
Totally. I did check in before making the appointment and asked if they actually accept BTC. Thank God they did, otherwise I'd be stuck with long hair for a few more months.

Bought some hot sauce: https://www.samsahouse.com/
Bought some amazing, no seed-oil potato chips: https://rosieschips.com
All with Lightning, obviously.
The best part is, all of the above vendors are Bitcoiners who are likely to hold the Sats, not convert to fiat unless necessary.

That's great! Thanks for sharing all there businesses accepting LN on their site (both powered by shitify + btc pay server apparently)
Does Dunston'ss Steakhouse accept LN on their premises?
reply
Yes, they do.
However, the owner is in the process of transitioning to an upgraded LN node. I'm not sure if he's completed the upgrade yet, so he may be temporarily down.
Great food, and great business with owners who are actively building a Bitcoin future.

Look like tasty chips, gonna get some!

They are expensive, but high quality. I believe the cost is worth it due to the higher quality ingredients and the fact I can use something other than dollars.
If we aren't building a "Bitcoin circular economy" then I don't understand what the fuck the point is. Bitcoiners with their NGU bullshit has me pissed the fuck off.
Start using Bitcoin or go buy gold, you fucking LARPers.
reply
Hell yeah preach. I've starting pissing them off by saying "holding isn't using"
There's actually a technical argument to support that statement IMO, since Bitcoin doesn't have censorship resistance without a healthy fee market.
BTC @ 100k with empty mempool tells you all you need to know...
reply
I still think holding is a form of using... the world desperately needed a decentralized savings technology that cannot be debased or attacked. SoV is very important.
However, if Bitcoin isn't directly threatening the dollar (and all fiat), then we are absolutely doing something wrong and we should be ashamed. SoV is not good enough.
reply
Absolutely! You preaching to the choir. I posted this last week: #873646

Only the teacher. The class is full of shitcoiners, and its costed me a lot of time and persuasion to make sure my teacher does not get infected with their virus...
reply
You started from the right one then 🤣 the teacher can then orange pill all others requesting bitcoin-only payments

I bought a hashlamp (#860905) and a Scoresby poster.
reply
Powering up! Apart the orangish light, does those lamps warm the room too?
Which poster have you picked?
reply
