Mrow.
The hullaballoo about the not-so-bitcoiny digital asset reserve (or whatever they called it) has churned through the news cycle and, mercifully, I don't think I've heard anything about some new shipcoin from the Trump estate. Luckily the ECB has come to fill the idiocy void in the news cycle.
European AI and crypto strategy: isolate, plug ears, 'LALALALALA'
Are the memes about how 'the european mind cannot comprehend [XYZ]' true? I recognize that America is an easy target to make fun of. Look at what those rowdy cowboys are up to now, what a bunch of crazies. But there's a baby (or two) getting thrown out with the bathwater, Europe.
Just because the Americans are crazy, they still might be playing with cool things. Things you might want to pick up. If you don't believe me, ask Germany.
Fair weather Tether analyst
I'm not about to pretend I have the financial savvy to really understand the inner workings of the Tether machine w/ respect to the Fed, but I will say, I find it fascinating watching it play out.
Tether is outstandingly profitable: Yahoo report on Tether's profitability
Tether buys an obscene quantity of US Treasury bills: Tether treasury reserves
So... Tether is getting paid interest by the US Federal Reserve just to run its outstandingly profitable business. And Tether has not so quietly become one of the largest buyers of US treasury bills on planet earth. Not to mention that the US true interest expense vs. tax receipts is lopsided, it owes more than it takes in. So the Fed is inclined, one way or another, to ease the pain. Weaken the dollar. Inject liquidity, somehow someway. Trim interest rates (even with inflation picking back up? Yikesss). I don't know how much that means Tether is seen favorably, since it's increasingly becoming one of the sharks looking for its cut from Uncle Sam...
It's not an enviable position that the Fed/US is in. But no matter how you cut it, this all leads to one thing: the bitcoin number go up technology will continue. US will find its way to keep the music playing and bitcoin will (in all likelihood) trend upward with increased liquidity.
That is all that I care to say today.
Chau chau, meow meow.
