This is a fun little tool -- showing you how much any amount of Pounds (it's a UK site) would be worth in historical England, going back to 1270. It shows value in Pounds, but also in the number of horses, sheep, cows, and other stuff you could purchase.

This is really neat.
It gives a sense of how valuable hodling might be, if the same thing is playing out in reverse.
Yup! I kind of wish they had a reverse lookup ("how many Pounds would I need to buy three cows in 1450?"), but it's still pretty nifty.
In 2017, this was worth approximately:
£61,474.98
In 1310, you could buy one of the following for £100, 10s(shillings):
Horses: 118
Cows: 223
Wool: 436
Wheat: 386
Salaries: 10050 days (qualified professional)
Oh my God!!!!!
That's a lot of cows!
Now it's explained why the merchants overthrew the monarchy 😂
