Is artificial intelligence the end of art?

I have heard this question asked a lot of times. My view is that AI won't be the end of ART. The artistic process is inherently a dialogue with uncertainty, with vulnerability. These are qualities that cannot be programmed. They are lived.
Each brushstroke, each musical phrase, each written word carries the ineffable weight of personal narrative, of cultural memory, of emotional complexity that transcends computational logic. AI will not be a replacement. It will be a sophisticated instrument - like a paintbrush or a musical synthesiser - through which human intentionality can explore new emotional territories.

I think AI may change how some art is created, but humans have created art since they lived in caves. A toddler could print a photo of the Mona Lisa, but given the option, would probably rather try to make their own art with finger paints.
I think there will always be human created art, and likely, the good stuff will hold an even higher price tag.

It will be interesting to see what the reactions by artists -- and people who become artists -- wind up being. All art is a function of some inputs; when the inputs include AI art, and the context is a world full of AI art, what are the outputs?

It won't be the end of art.
It will be the end of stock photos and human-made mock-ups.

Not at all it’s all so terrible when you see it everywhere rn. It will just be another tool to use in conjunction with already tried and tested tools. At best in the future your iRobot will be able to paint the Mona Lisa but it will still be just a sad copy and not the real thing.

Definitely not. Because AI cannot come up with eccentric, quirky art like Yayoi Kusama or inspirational, tug-at-your-heartstrings films like Hayao Miyazaki

I have many friends who are artists and create things with their hands. AI will never be able to do that. At least not yet!

I think the main reason why AI cannot replace the artist is because of its inability to feel emotions.
Emotions play a crucial role within the artist's inspiration and output 🎨
