Fun little story for you guys that I forgot to post yesterday.
Recently my wife had some old pictures printed.
While I was driving my daughter to dance class on Wednesday evening she randomly said "you know, I saw a picture of you and mommy from a long time ago. She said you were on a DATE". She really emphasized the word date. I replied "that's nice baby, did mommy show you the old pictures she printed?". My daughter replied "yes".
We continued driving and she was still curious about this date thing. She said, "so you went on a date with mommy because you are married to mommy". I replied "we weren't married at that time. That was after we first met and before your brother was born. We still go on dates sometimes, just not very often, we usually like to go out as a family". I continued "it is Valentine's day next month, should I take mommy out on a date to celebrate?".
She thought for a moment and then replied "No, you can just come with mommy and me when we go for a lunch date to the cafe".
Hahahaha. I guess I am off the hook for Valentine's day!
Finding time alone is so hard when you have kids. Seems like your daughter just wants to add herself to your date. What about the son? haha
reply
Sounds more like she wants to add me to her lunch date with her mom. My wife does take her on a lunch date at the cafe down the street from us usually once a month or so.
reply
haha, that could be what it is. Is she always able to get a desert after? Kids seem to have really good memories when it comes to that kind of stuff.
reply
Yes she loves to get a treat.
reply
It always seems to be their objective.
reply
Be careful. As sound as that reasoning may see, it may not hold up when put to the test.
reply
Very true. "But the kid said I could just tag along for lunch".
