The real question is this: for regular Bitcoiners who use Bitcoin purely as a monetary network, do we really need to go through this again? On-chain congestion, useless pump-and-dump schemes, skyrocketing fees...

We probably don't need it, but Bitcoin is permission-less and people will experiment just because they can and nobody can prevent them to do so.
Taproot assets on the LN look way more interesting than BRC-20 thingies, and probably more useful and fun to play with. Looking forward to those to see what they bring... :-)

This is because the Blockchain Technology is meant for Bitcoin, the only true Digital asset, faces misuse through the introduction of shitcoins. Blockchain isn't a playground to experiment with shitcoin-toys.
