I'm looking for titles that present a story somehow bitcoin-adjacent, or discussing 'our' values and topics, like individualism, autonomy, decentralization, enlightenment, anti-system...
Ie: what film would you screen at the Bitcoin meetup, that is not about Bitcoin?
What comes to mind first:
  • The Matrix
  • Truman Show
  • V for Vendetta
  • Big Short
  • Equilibrium
....what else?

Grape of Wrath. The story background is in the 30s, right after the Great Depression, based on John Steinbeck's novel of the same name. People couldn't find jobs so they decide to go West, to California. Bitcoin-wise, I like the scene where the main character realize the dollar lost value and can't buy anything for the same coin. And the acting is good.

I love Steinbeck, didn't see this adaptation!

I was thinking again about your question, and I would like to add something else, although it is not a movie (sorry for being a bit off-topic). It is a very short episode of South Park, Margaritaville: https://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/9do3gw/south-park-margaritaville-season-13-ep-3
If you didn't watch it, I highly recommend it, it is extremely funny, good for a short meetup, and it is about the 2008 financial crisis.

ohhh niceee! I'll watch it definitely soon!

In terms of self reliance and being a sovereign individual. As well as: if you fuck up, it's on you.

I posted in my guide here a series of a "must watch" videos/ documentaries (non-bitcoin):
If after watching all of those, the nocoiner still is not interested into Bitcoin, then is not worth it wasting time with that nocoiner. LOST CAUSE. FORGET IT.
V for Vendetta
btw that movie was a scam... https://wearechange.org/guy-fawkes-gun-powder-plot-false-flags-shaped-history/ I really do not understand why people are so in love with a false flag movie... ARE THEY FUCKING BLIND ?!

This influential German science-fiction film presents a highly stylized futuristic city where a beautiful and cultured utopia exists above a bleak underworld populated by mistreated workers. When the privileged youth Freder (Gustav FrΓΆhlich) discovers the grim scene under the city, he becomes intent on helping the workers. He befriends the rebellious teacher Maria (Brigitte Helm), but this puts him at odds with his authoritative father, leading to greater conflict.

It's so cringe when people like The Matrix as a metaphor for real life. Cringe.
