Palmdale and Lancaster residents commute to Los Angeles. It's one hour drive w/o traffic.
So to get a 45 minute average, a majority of Palmdale would drive into L.A., but then with a 33 minute average, somewhat less than half of Lancaster would (being that Lancaster is roughly the same distance or further from L.A. than Palmdale).
Likely because a higher percentage of Lancaster workers are employed locally (defense industry related) and Palmdale residents are there for the lower cost of living (cheaper housing) but still must commute into L.A. for work.
So glad I no longer make that trek down the hill.
Defense industry locally?
Which companies? I thought they all left after 1999
Defense and aerospace:
And in the area, not defense-related:
Damn
Quite a list
