Got my offline cash today.
The notes are heavy! Pretty and dominated in 1, 2, 5, and 10 miliBitcoin (1 millibitcoin = 100,000 sats).
Can’t load sats yet because the iOS app isn’t approved.
Overall I think this is a cool concept simple form factor people can understand and you can pass on value in areas with no internet or use for tipping! Can’t see this being used to buy goods and services yet due to lack of change but I’m excited to try and tip Someone with this!
Huh? Where did you got it? Can you post a link? I think I know what you mean but I don't what it was called...

You have to reserve and wait. Feels weird sending money into the wild and hoping you get something back but they shipped and they are active on Twitter if you need help or have questions

On the road again for me. Best wishes plebs.
Safe travels my friend
I have been reading about what many people consider the imminent invasion of Haiti by the US. As the west condemns Russia's war in Ukraine, how does the west rationalize what's going on in Haiti? Does anyone on SN have personal knowledge of Haiti today?

I don't think it's an invasion. Rather it should be a UN intervention. Haiti unfortunately has been in a state of anarchy, violence and corruption for three decades and this does not improve. It is the most violent and poorest country in Latin America. Currently gangs rule the streets, raping women and looting people. The UN has not been able to address the situation without the intervention of troops and this is getting worse every day. Will military intervention be the solution? I don't know but it's time for someone to do something more firmly than before

The UN is not going to help, they will just have a presence for decades, funneling money into special interests and meanwhile the people stay poor and in conflict. For example the Central African Republic had UN support for almost 10 years, it wasnt until Russians offered to help that the civil war ended. And it only took 10 months. And i dont believe that is propaganda because it was mentioned by several citizens in CAR by a youtuber who just wanted to know what life was like there. He found these people randomly.
I did not say that the UN was going to help, in fact they have been there since 2004 but they have not been able to contain the violence and corruption. The troops that are there are blue helmets (peace troops). But the country is in chaos, the poverty rates are alarming and not to mention the violence, in fact the recently elected president was assassinated in 2021. I think what is planned now is for troops from the USA and Canada to go
Here's a little perspective on the US involvement in Haiti: https://history.state.gov/milestones/1914-1920/haiti
And a more recent historical take: https://www.npr.org/2022/10/14/1129223050/the-history-of-u-s-intervention-in-haiti-is-stopping-u-s-officials-from-interven
Wow had no idea things were so bad. Sounds terrible. Scary how fast civilization can descend into chaos.
Surprisingly (or not?) this was the first I heard of it. Would also be interested in hearing from people on the ground.
