Is there any comedy TV shows that you can watch over and over again?

Mine is Baskets. I think it is the funniest show I have seen. It stars Zach Galifianakis as an aspiring clown who is also an actual clown. Zach also plays Chip the clown's twin brother, Dale. Louie Anderson as "Mom" is absolutely brilliant. Louis CK is one of the creators. I think is it a super smart show.

Has anyone seen it?

Here is a selection of clips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr14zI3pCkM

I watched it. Didn't Louie Anderson play his mother? It was often very funny, but I thought it had the potential to be much better. I put "Bored To Death" in the same category

reply

Yes, Louie is is the mom. It was strange to me at first and and eventually my favorite character on the show.

I have only watched "Bored to Death" a but but I am interested.

reply

I didn't watch it. In fact from the hollywood, I've only watched Lucifer.

My favorite comedy tv show is It's always sunny in Philadelphia. I enjoy others like Baskets, Curb your Enthusiasm, and Silicon Valley, but sunny trumps them all in re-watchibility imo

Without a doubt The big bang theory

Mystery Science Theater 3000. The best. Replay value is high because you won't get all the jokes. One will smack you in the face years or decades later.

I've watched a few episodes of Baskets with my wife (who is non-coincidentally a clown). I enjoyed it.

Most people might not think of it as a comedy, and it's certainly not a comedy-comedy, but I loved Ted Lasso.

Succession is also a recent favorite.

I tend to prefer large stories, and most comedy-comedy shows tend to be pretty episodic, or at least not as considerate of the larger story. I also prefer my comedy a little dryer and quieter than most comedy-comedies end up being.

reply

if you enjoy large-story comedy shows, The Good Place is rather good, and it's a continuing story and not at all episodic

reply

I haven't watched it yet despite having it suggested, because fantasy-comedy requires a particular mood from me. Maybe I'll give it a shot next time.

reply

I never thought as fantasy comedy as genre. What makes it fantasy comedy, just too unbelievable?

reply

Yeah it usually requires extraordinary suspension of disbelief.

reply

I liked Succession a lot.

I really enjoyed "Louie Louie".... with Louis CK
