I have always been interested in cars and driving. I have enjoyed many movies about cars in the past. I remember when the first "Fast and Furious" movie, had all my friends and I wanting to drive suped up imports. I also loved the sexy vibes of "Gone in 60 Seconds". Mostly those movies are just nostalgic for me now. My new favorite is perhaps "Ford Vs. Ferrari" (2019). Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors, and there is a historical element to the movie that I really enjoy. Have you seen it? What did you think? What are you favorite movies where cars or drivers are a main theme?

This is my favourite movie filmed on the road. It's a bit old, but I might watch it again.

Ford vs. Ferrari is def one of my favorites. I just watched it recently and forgot how good it is.
Have you ever seen The Art Of Racing In The Rain? Its a car movie but I think more than that, it's a movie about a guy and his dog Enzo (named after Enzo Ferrari) but the movie is narrated by Kevin Kostner as Enzo.

I think Herby and The Italian Job were among the first two movies I ever saw at the cinema (showing my age!). The Italian Job has one of the best car chases btw!

Yes.
I seem to like the older stuff better.
The new stuff is mostly cgi...right?
It just looks fake.

I agree. I enjoy practical effects. As soon as I sense the CGI, it takes me out of it. And things tend or be overdone because there are no limits with cgi.

I saw Ford vs Ferrari and enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was a good movie and the acting is also very good.
Baby Driver is one of my favorite driver / crime movies. If I think my absolute favorite movie about cars is the first Cars movie by Pixar. Lightning McQueen is simply awesome!

Another pick for me has to be Drive (2011). While it's not really about cars or driving in the typical sense, the main character is a stunt driver and I think it's a great movie.
