It's very clear to me that most couples married with a notary act recgonized by the state don't have a monogamous relation. Just wait for some crisis and usually the wife will turn for help for her real husband, the state to impose her will, and often rob the husband. Even more frequent is the case when they will have the state as a primary source of the truth, considering the husband lunatic and a victim of conspiracy theories. So if there's a third part in marriage, how can it be considered mongamous? We need to separate marriage and state!
legal marriage is a joinder of state personas, accountable to the state first (who created the personas), and to each other last.
a wedding is a ceremony with spoken vows in front of witnesses - that should be sufficient for the union, but it can also be documented, like filing the account of the events into the family bible. additionally, the man and the woman would be smart to write up their individual powers of attorney for each other, which could be independent of the union. ur terms, ur conditions.
some interesting maxims of law about husband and wife:
  • Maris et faeminae conjunctio est de jure naturae. The union of husband and wife is founded on the law of nature. 7 Co. 13.
  • Vir et uxor consentur in lege una persona. Husband and wife are considered one person in law. Co. Litt. 112.
  • Omnia quae sunt uxoris sunt ipsius viri. All things which are of the wife, belong to the husband. Co. Litt. 112.
@Lux, wud u make any corrections to the above?

What is the purpose of writing up a power of attorney? What is that for? I sincerely don't know what it is.
reply
a lawful document written just in case u lose capacity (power to act or communicate), so that someone can make decisions for u. it can also be written if you want to extend someone the power to do tasks on ur behalf, such as a bunch of paperwork or business.

I think this is a pretty tough situation... I personally don't believe in "Marriage". And when I say I don't believe in marriage I mean two main aspects.
  • On the one hand, the ritual, going to church and the whole show. I don't believe in that religion, I even consider it the worst thing that can exist. So I consider it totally stupid to have a wedding with a party, church, veil and bouquet of flowers 💐 (I respect those who live in their illusion, but I consider it a purely religious act, and if you are guided by that religion, you are going through life well asleep, and if you are not religious and still do the ritual for the photos and what others say, then you are stupid).
  • And secondly, the issue you mention. Marriage certified by the State. There is another option that also seems crazy to me. Letting the state get its hands on your assets, and your whole life afterwards if something goes wrong. And obviously it happens in many cases of wives who take advantage of that signed contract to then harm or literally together with the state steal what you have achieved, many times what was achieved within the marriage and sometimes even what was not achieved within the marriage.

I agree with you, and as I wrote I recognize the religious marriage only because it's a voluntarly thing and won't have a third part interfering after, at least not with the use of force, maybe with conseling and words but that's it.
reply
Exactly... when there are three of them, it stops being a relationship. And any third party is bad.

This is a really interesting point and I can relate to the importance of the sentiment. My kids mother who I proposed to before they were born said yes. Years went by and we shared a good life together for a while, but she was never ready to actually marry. I am pretty sure she cheated on me towards the end and and eventually she left me. I never did anything but love and take care of here. And being a father is one of my greatest accomplishments. That's to say I think I am a great father. Eventually she sued me for child support and custody. She won. Without getting into a lot of details, I felt very abused. She and her lawyer basically made up stories about me and I wasn't in a place to be able to fight it. It broke my heart. I knew I was a great father. She just wanted money. And this was happened without ever actually being married. I had tried to do the right thing by proposing, and I still got the shit end of the deal because we shared children and I was the man.
Now I am with woman whom I believe is my partner for life. And she is my wife. And I am her husband. We had a beautiful ceremony. Nothing to do with the state or paperwork. We choose into each other everyday because we care for each other. Not because of a contract. It's beautiful. Marriage contracts are horrible in my opinion. A loving partnership should be something that we gladly choose into and enjoy to be a part of, not a contractual obligation with severe consequences.
That's my opinion anyways. Thank you for the interesting post.

I am sorry about the story with the mother of your children. That's very sad, I believe the state favours a lot that kind of situation, because strong men like you, creating and taking care of a good family rivals the power of the state. I am very happy that you found a good companion for life now. Have a blessing weekend.

It all worked out. I am grateful that my kids are nearly grown so my connection to that woman is almost completely done with. And I know she has a different version of the story. Only thing that matters to me is the connection I have with my kids.. And it's beautiful so I know I did good.

I hope I manage to have some kids someday, teach them how to manage a LN, I dream about it everyday.
reply
You will. I believe it's what life is about. I want to have more with my new wife. She is younger and I am young enough. I have never felt more fulfilled that I have when I was raising young children. Even though I was completely ignorant back then, it was a highlight of my life. And now I can do it again but completely differently because I am so different. And my 16 year old son is one of my best friends. Children are a gift.

I am very excited for you, and want to experience the same.

Keep visualizing and dreaming about it. Great things come with time and attention. You deserve it.

I have heard of many cases like this, where women, because they are women, take advantage of the situation. I am very happy that you have started again on the path of love. Keep going. Thank you for sharing your story.

Anything that has to do with the state being involved is already going down the wrong path. Relationships should be without paperwork or protocols, that is, free, obviously respecting the other person.

Coincidentally enough a friend just text me now, after writing this post asking me to go to his "wedding" at the city hall. I said "no sorry, I only recognize religious wedding". Maybe I am too radical, but I want to live in harmony with my principles.

Love you as a brother or a sister!

Marriage should just be between the man and the woman, not with some 'Big Daddy Government' acting as her backup boyfriend.
reply
And what if the husband is abusive or murders her?
reply
That's a rare case that the state uses in toher to destroy millions of families, but even the rare cases like those have a much better solution in voluntarly societies, which are much more peaceful overall.
reply
Murderers usually go to prison for murdering.

And who decides if something is consensual? A jury? Now they're making us have sex with multiple people at once?
How is that monogamous???
reply
monogamous: Married or paired with only one person. Also used as a noun.
