I would recommend AQUA as the best newb friendly wallet that allows the most seamless way of holding both on-chain and LN and swapping between.
CoinOS is also beginner friendly and supports on chain, LN and Liquid and eCash

Because mercury didn't come out before LN.
If would be already a usable thing in 2017-2018 or even 2019, maybe would have some traction. But now that LN took the place, is not interesting anymore and slowly will be forgotten. Why? Because LN is getting better and better every month.
All other so called "solutions to scale" failed to appear when were needed.
There's ONLY one L2: LN
All the rest are garbage promises. Especially Liquid that is NOT a L2.
